Even better than the first book!

I loved reading from Ariella’s perspective, a much interesting story compared to Elizabeth’s. Perfectly captured the fear of being a Jew in WWII.

I’m definitely really curious what the third book will be about. Probably about adjusting to life after the war, but I fear that won’t be as interesting as the topic of Ariella’s survival.

To be completely honest, I didn't particularly want to like this book- but in the end I did enjoy it completely. It is a little bit- astounding how all of the important people in everyone's lives manages to survive the war and be reunited, but this is indeed a "cozy WWII" series. And in the end, it really didn't bother me. It just made me feel a little maybe guilty- for enjoying it so much, because I don't think too many people's lives worked out post war- quite as perfectly as things did for these characters.  I definitely recommend this series, its engaging and relatively low stress reading.
