i started and stopped this book at least five times. i really enjoyed the last 30 percent of the book but for the most part i kept thinking about how much i wanted to put it down. the ending was beautiful though.

I genuinely don't know what to write. This book is insane. You don't know what's going on and you feel lile your just as insane as both miri and leah. Julia's writing is amazing, flows so well and she has a style I really enjoy. I know the book will not be for everyone but I enjoyed every second.

3.5 stars. I enjoyed this book and it brought me to tears at the end but I definitely have loved others more… It was beautiful and I really enjoyed how it portrayed such a loving relationship and the grief that Miri was going through while Leah was still there. I love the times when she said that Leah felt like ‘her Leah’ again. I definitely have my criticisms of this book but I feel like many of the criticisms other people have are just ignorant. We do not explicitly know what the smell was or the real reason for the voyage because the characters don’t explicitly know.
