This was my first adult book. I was eleven when I read it. It made me a lifelong reader of sci-fi.

I think the @appletv trailer for #foundation (and, let’s be honest here, @leeepfrog looks hella good) just raised my expectations toooooooooo high for the actual source material and while the story is compelling, it didn’t work for me on the same level as #Dune . Also, holy moly did #georgelucas lift #HanSolo from #HanPritcher ? The similarities speak for themselves

Nota final de la Trilogía: 5/5 como una casa de grande. Porque sí, porque lo digo yo y punto. Aunque algunas historias son más flojas que otras (tampoco demasiado), en general la trilogía me ha parecido una auténtica pasada y se merece la nota máxima. Pasa directamente a mi lista de libros favoritos de ciencia ficción y Asimov a la de escritores. Ahora le toca el turno a Los límites de la Fundación... o a cualquier otro libro suyo. Se aceptan sugerencias.

This book has some great plot points, twists and views on society.
The story starts with a psychohistorial called Seldon who has studied the behaviour patterns of societies on a planetery level. He finds out that the galactic empire is destined to break apart and proposes a way how to reduce the rebuilding of a galactic society within a fraction of the natural rebuild period. The Foundation is the answer.
This is the collection of three books. The first book focuses on Seldon's cleverness. The second book on his failure and the third one on his genius and on flexibility of humanity.

I actually adore the exploration of weakness of a plan and of humanity.

BUT these books are clearly the babies of their time. The future is very male and very misogynistic.. There are VERY few female characters and the ones who are there are just horrible stereotypes who are told to go make a cake for the guests, are only defined as heritage and worst of all as sex objects.
DISGUSTING. It made me cringe so many times damn. I mean THERE IS A DICK JOKE IN THIS omg whyyy..
The books have some pacing issues as well, but I would attribute it to the fact that these are collections of several short stories published in newspapers... it still works well enough...
Overall my biggest problem was that you are not following a character for more than a chapter or two. It's frustrating for me to read a story where I cannot bond or analyse anybody. This made me DNF the book two times before I've finished it.
I see why this trilogy is a valuable legendary piece of science fiction history... however you really must be motivated to read it AND overlook the sexism in this.
