The story she tells is amazing--being bounced from foster home to foster home, being molested and abused, joining a gang, getting sober, and eventually going to college. It's really an uplifting tale about how people can achieve things when they try.
My problem with this book, though, is the way it's written--there are times when it gets VERY repetitive and her prose definitely leaves things to be desired. In the beginning, I thought about just putting it down and never picking it back up because the way she writes reminds me of the way high school kids write. But her story was so interesting and so engaging, that I couldn't help but finish. The author herself is an inspiration.

This book is raw and intense. Base on the author's (Cupcake Brown) life its a testament to the fact anyone can come back up after hitting rock bottom. At the end, this book inspire me even though I couldn't relate to any of her situations but the story as a whole gave me inspiration.

It started off quite slow for me. Yes it seems as if the story was kind of redundant, but this is the authors true life story. It truly tells of how she basically spent her life battling the disease of drugs and alcohol. Everyone has a different story and her's seemed to be a revolving door of the same things for a long period of time. Although It was a bit disturbing to read regarding how hard her life was it was eye opening to how blessed other people really are. I did struggle to get through the book but I finished and I am glad I read it.

Figured out she found Jesus. It was an incredible read until she started making deals with God.
