This was a cute little book that was infinitely better than Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (the original, not the screenplay), where Rowling went for cheap laughs that got old quickly. Here she played it straight (mostly), providing a relatively realistic explanation of the historical evolution of Quidditch from a game similar to basketball on brooms all the way to the version we know and love from the Harry Potter books. There were still plenty of unexpectedly funny lines and I laughed out loud several times. It was a nice combination of bonus backstory for Harry Potter superfans and the silly cheekiness that makes the humor of that series so fun.
A quick and relatively enjoyable read but didn't give me all the Harry Potter feels I was hoping for
Thank you, Dumbledore for releasing Quidditch Through the Ages to muggle libraries around the world. I was relieved to learn how the Golden Snitch replaced the Golden Snidget, as it is far more humane. Go, Montrose Magpies!

Reads exactly like a school book would, so do with that as you will :) It's a 60 page gimmick for Harry potter fans that love fun facts. The writing style is quite sarcastic which I personally enjoyed but there really isn't much more to it!
This book is not a masterpiece, and it's not as good as the actual HP books (of course). Still, there's some great details in here, and some of Rowling's excellent humor; for an HP fan, it's definitely worth the read.
