Learning about the wonderful game of Quidditch was exciting, I really enjoyed learning more about the origins of the very popular wizarding sport. It was enlightening and a great read for anyone who's interested in exploring the Wizarding World.

So I actually listened to the new audiobook was too lazy to change the format here. I liked all of Andrew Lincoln's different voices but hated the unnecessary added sound effects. Those sound effects were louder than the narration and were often rather explosive pops or surprise sounds that scared me while driving. I did enjoy the random facts such as the Ballycastle Bats mascot was Barny the Fruitbat, who was also featured in Butterbeer advertisements. Fun read but overdone production.
A funny and inventive book about the history of Quidditch through the ages, expanding upon the fictional history of the equally fictional sports played by wizards and witches in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. A breath of fresh air from the times that JK Rowling wasn't so controversial and wrote some of her best work.
It's Harry Potter's birthday and the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was released in book form today. I didn't get my act together and pre-order it early enough, so I will have to wait for it to arrive in the mail on Tuesday. But, in the meantime, I decided to celebrate Harry's birthday by reading the one other book related to the series I have not yet read, Quidditch Through the Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp (aka J.K. Rowling). I love these companion pieces to the series of the books mentioned being in the Hogwarts Library in the actual series. This gives the history of how quidditch started and the changes it experienced along the way to become the game it is today. I also loved the international explanation of all the teams. Nothing earth shattering, but a fun, quick read.
