it's okay. it's not bad but i can't say that it's very good either. i like the slow burn for the development but i wish the plot were tighter. the characters were nice, i just did not love them very much. personally, the pet names felt forced and uncomfortable, but that's just me.
anyway, i especially liked the portrayal of the husband Cory, as i grew up seeing all the mothers in my family like Merit.

Such a page-turner! Watching as Merit’s life simultaneously unravels and rights itself was incredible. Both Merit and Jane were written with such depth, I felt like I was hearing the secret and sacred history of a close relative. Wonderful contemporary fiction, beautiful love toured abound.

Almost quit halfway through. It did get better. Definitely not a normal plot line or overly predictable. I didn't love the main character and that always makes a book less enjoyable for me.
