Wonderful book for the age of 8+
It's quite a chunker, but the font is big and it has a lot of illustrations, so don't be intimidated by the size!

The most fun part of it is that the author also interacts with the main character Lucy. He acts as the narrator of the story. Hilarious sometimes!

As an adult who reads very little fiction, I decided some middle grade fiction might be a good place to explore some easy reads. As an avid fan of McFly, there was something particularly tempting about The Creakers, The Musical Edition, by Tom Fletcher. I have to say, I would like to see more musical based books from this author; the idea is original and worked incredibly well!

Fantasy really isn’t my typical genre, which possibly stopped me from engaging fully with the plot/characters but overall, this was an enjoyable listen for me - the perfect choice for someone in need of a light hearted, fantasy based, children’s fiction.

Funny, heartfelt and inspiring.

This brilliant story of courage and kindness was so fun to read. Coupled with the gorgeous illustrations it really told a wonderful story of friendship and familial bonds.

**I was sent a copy of this in exchange for an honest review/ as a result of my job**

I can see exactly why a child would love this. it's the perfect mix of cute and decidedly gross. There's definitely some potty humour but overall it has such a wonderful message. One day Lucy Dungston wakes up to find every adult in her town has disappeared. As you can imagine, without adults, chaos ensues. The only person that has some semblance of an idea of what to do is Lucy. She becomes the default adult and hatches a plan to find the parents...but it might be a little more difficult than you think.

One thing I love is how Tom Fletcher writes such huggable books. I can sit and read them in one go and still want more. I also think he's been an absolute genius with the little giggles the parents will get out of some of the character names. If you or your child has read this please have a giggle with me in the comments below.

I highly highly recommend this to anyone of any age.
