Thank you to Revell for the free review copy. All opinions are my own.

This book was so fantastic. It’s message is needed in today’s society for those that desire and choose to walk with Christ. Her message shows how believers should live. Lisa doesn’t shy away from calling out sin that is happening in the world. I really enjoyed her honesty and bluntness in this novel.

Each chapter is dedicated to one way that believers should live their lives adamantly. Some of these topics are love, hate, and holiness. In each chapter, the truth is shared about God. Each chapter gives biblical references to show how truth should be lived out in Christ followers lives.

This book is out now, and the message is greatly needed. Please, please read this. There may be some conviction, but it only helps pull the believer closer to Christ.

It seems like these days, the truth has become subjective. It's everybody for themselves and whatever we want to change is becoming changeable. We are no longer adamant, resolute or steadfast in knowing what to believe anymore.

In a world full of changing tides, Lisa Bevere believes now more than ever that we must be firm in what we believe is the truth, and where we are finding our truth. In Adamant: Finding Truth in a Universe of Opinions, Bevere reminds us that Jesus Christ is the thing on which we should stand resolute. She points towards scripture that reminds us that He is our cornerstone and the base upon which we build everything we know. Without Jesus, nothing makes sense.

This is the second book I've read by Bevere, and once again, I've been struck by the amount of scripture she utilizes. With well-documented research, Bevere encourages the reader to study scripture for themselves to see if what she is proposing to us in Adamant stands firm. I point out this fact not because I think Bevere needs to do more research as a female author, but because I myself have sought to study and understand Scripture in a similar way. It was encouraging to my soul to see another female author seek out information that has often felt unattainable, even in an era where equal rights for women are touted on a non-stop basis. I was fascinated to learn the depth of the meaning of the word adamant and how it relates to scripture. Knowing the full story of the adamant stone brings a fuller picture to the idea of Jesus. He is our indestructible and resolute adamant stone. The truth on which we base everything we believe.

Adamant is a rallying cry to go back to scripture. For us as women to dig into scriptures. To find what God expects of us as we live our daily lives. I finished this book challenged to spend more time reading scripture and studying scripture. To really dig in and know what I believe and why I believe. I found myself wanting to be more resolute in the things that I believe and why I believe them. I found within me a stronger need to be resolute in understanding the truth within scripture and finding words to articulate those truths.

Adamant will point you back towards scripture. And it will give you some truths to be able to put into practice in your own life. And all of it stands on the cornerstone of our faith - Jesus Christ.

I received a copy of this book from Revell. This review is my own, honest opinion.

When I first started reading, I got quite a bit out of the beginning. But the further in I got, the more inconsistencies I noticed and the more frustrated I got. While I realize it common to compare translations, the fact that throughout several chapters she switches between three or four different translations began to bother me, especially since two of the translations she uses have been steeped in controversy over the years. And, for a book talking about the search for truth, there were multiple occasions when she was misleading, especially when it came to anything relating to the LGBT community.

Really enjoyed this immensely. I'm so glad I got a chance to listen to the book. Lisa reads her work with so much passion and fire! So many incredible nuggets throughout the book!
