Story of Nix and Tate

This is an ex best friends to lovers / bi awakening story.

Nix and Tate grew up together until one New Year’s Eve, when they were eighteen, something happened and their friendship ended.

Thirteen years later, Nix seeks Tate out to rekindle their friendship. I won’t say anything else because I don’t want to spoil it. I will say Nix has a particular set of skills and would get a big scout merit badge for sure.

It was amazing reading about this particular kink and what could be involved.

I was fist pumping the air when they got their hea.

Kale did another awesome job on the narration. 10/10.
Highly recommend you read the whole series, it’s fascinating.

I'm loving this entire series, but this book is by far my favorite. This story was so beautiful, and it was touching how much Taye and Nix trusted each other. I loved how Tate also learned to open up to others in friendship as well. This book can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the entire series.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily gave my honest review.

I’ve read a few books that purportedly featured shibari that only had one or two lackluster scenes. Not so with this one! It’s a big part of the story and there are scenes scattered throughout the book. I loved that it was instrumental to helping build trust and break down walls in their communication. (Not to mention the scenes are extremely hot. Just saying.)

The relationship itself had some ups and downs, which honestly seemed fairly realistic, but they kept trying hard to communicate and get over any obstacles that arose.

I enjoyed this enough that I’ll be going back to read prior books in the series.

So yep the shibari scenes are some of the most beautiful I have had the pleasure of reading. Mia Monore describes these as art and you can picture the moments truly beautiful.
Nixon & Tate use the art of shibari to overcome their pasts to experience an even better future. As with the previous books of this series Mia Monroe shows us the love of found family in our pastry and tattoo shops. Cannot wait for the next book in this beautiful series.

this was… interesting to read
i enjoy books that are sentimental, and this book was quite so. sometimes it came on a little too strong, but overall it was decent

I loved this book! Shibari isn't something I've read a lot of books about but I've always been intrigued by it. Mia did a fantastic job with the description of the ropes and scenes. The sexy times were super hot and the sweet times were equally as tender. I love a good friends to lovers and this was no exception. I also really enjoyed the foreshadowing for the next book and the cameos from all the guys in the previous two books. Free Me is a great story about growing as person and learning to accept yourself. I recommend, not only this book, but the entire series.

Free Me was a new experience for me. I've read kink books, but I've never read a shibari book before. (rope play/rope art - don't worry I had to google it too). It was a very sensual read. Mia Monroes descriptive writing from the scene setup to the emotions going through each MC at the moment was amazing. I could almost feel exactly how exhilarating the experience was for them.

These characters were loveable and made you root for them. Long lost " straight " best friend you've loved for 13 years returns and says he misses you. I mean talk about heart eyes. Tate was always this unassuming quieter type in the previous books. He didn't really stand out, not like Gen or Casper. I was surprised what that man was hiding under that innocent exterior. The answer is a filthy little minx.

Nix was very kind from the moment we meet him. He comes bearing an apology with no expectations of being forgiven. He just knows it has to be said. It's obvious that he has grown as a person since Tate's memories of him. He comes off as very mature in a way. Throughout everything he was constantly reassuring that Tate was comfortable, that he was alright.

There was some parent drama and some mild "gay" freakout, but other than that their relationship bloomed. It came from knowing someone intimately from years of having a strong bond. Maybe they weren't ready for it as teens, but as grown men who can work out their feelings they stood a chance at something great.

As usual I loved seeing all the guys out together at Velvet. It was fun catching up with past couples, especially Casper and Saint. And it's always great when an author sets the stage for the next couple , well throuple in this case.

The next book in this enjoyable series, we get Tate's story - second chance at love, GFY and BFF to lovers, it is a mix of all these tropes with kink thrown in.

I enjoyed the read but would have liked to see a bit more angst / learning how to please a man from Nix - he just seemed to know what to do without any anxiety.

The connection between the MC's is great and I love that Tate opens up more to the bakery and tatt shop boys!

Der Fokus war zu sehr auf rope play und die Unterhaltungen teilweise sehr wie so Therapiegespräche....
