The story sucked me right in.
Emery is all alone in her world for being different, until three brothers come into her life to show her what it means to belong.
Emery takes her life back and starts something she never expected. Only for years later to find out the consequences of her actions.
Emery is feisty and so strong willed. But still able to accept and love from those important to her.
The guys were so easy to love. All three of them were so different but similar in so many ways. Dominant, sweet, and possessive.
This was a great story. I'm excited to dig into the rest.

I am new to the Paranormal Romance genre, but I was blown away by Departed Whispers, which is part of the Twisted
legends Collection, but I did not have any issues starting with Departed Whispers not having read the others in the collection.
Emery won me over right from the start; she is tough and bad*ss. Her love interests Luther, Atticus & Kody each bring something to the table in this reverse harem relationship with Emery. Departed Whispers is not just spicy smut; there is a crazy and intriguing story here. Emery is a black magick witch who needs to return to Reapers Hollow to face her past and try to save the three crushes she left behind 13 years ago. You can expect suspense, angst, good vs evil and twists. Fear not for those of you who need closure; there is no cliffhanger at the end. I cannot wait to see what J Rose releases next! My rating is easily a 5 / 5 stars.

yes, yes, and more yes. i read this in one sitting because i simply couldn’t put it down. this was my first J Rose book, but the rest are immediately being added to my TBR. the pacing was perfect, the dynamics between the characters and their own individual character developments - i couldn’t have asked for any of it to be better. it can be difficult to form a good RH in a stand alone novel, but this might be the best one that i’ve read to date. not to mention, the smut was everything i’ve ever dreamed of

Every single book J. Rose puts out sucks me in. It doesn't even matter what it is! I love Emery, Atticus, Luther and Kody.
Reaper's Hollow is full of mystery, but there is an evil spirit that has taken over since Emery left. Now that she is back, she must fight for those she loves to rid the town of the evil. Emery may not have wanted to come back, but now that she is back with her boys, she is ready to fight for them.
I don't know what it is about J Rose's books that pull you in and immerse you in these incredible worlds. I could not put the book down and it was absolutely amazing. Not only is there a plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat, the spicy bits are top notch!
I always love a good standalone, but I always feel the same as when I finish a series. I don't want to let the characters go and wish I could live in this world forever.

Loved this story Emery is such a bada$$ . She left Reapers Hollow 13 years before the story starts without saying goodbye to her 3 best friends she thought she was doing what was best for them keeping them safe. Little did she know the evil that was consuming Reapers Hollow put them in more danger than if she’d stayed . Luther, Kody, and Atticus are drool worthy and all but Atticus welcomed her back with errrrr open arms but Atticus gets the stick from up his a$$ eventually
