This was quite a cult book back in the day along with Lauren’s beauty guide. I decided to reread it out of curiosity to see if I still liked it and also to make up my mind whether to donate it. If you like Lauren’s way of dressing, you’re going to love this book because her style leaps of the page. Learn how to have her understated, casual yet chic look with top tips and interesting sections on clothing for all occasions. Maybe a little too young for me now, but I can see this going to a good new home.

To sum this book up in one word, it would be "average". I read a different book "Glamorous by George" that is also about fashion and style tips that was much more in depth and fun to read. This one is very bland but I'm glad I read it and got to compare. If you are looking for a fun read or want to learn more about clothes then I would recommend "Glamorous by George" instead :)

Easy to read, informational and fun book about style from all aspects. I'm a fan of Lauren Conrad's style, so this book was on my to-read list for a while. I was not disappointed, and it gave me quite a few tips and insights!

Surprisingly I really enjoyed this book. I have a secret addiction to style shows and on occassion even attempt to ramp up my own wardrobe. I also really love Conrad's line at Kohl's, but I was unsure of what to expect from this book. I was really pleasantly surprised. I anticipated alot of plugging her own line, instead I found really well thought out guidelines for making the most of your wordrobe. Conrad highlighted differnt articles of clothing instead of brands and I found that to be really refreshing. I especially liked the chapter about how to clean out your overstuffed closet. It was a interesting look into how she lives and how you can take some of what she does and apply it to herself. Occasional mentions were made of her time on reality TV, but only as they applied to the subject at hand, and I never felt like she was trading on her tv persona in this book. Instead I felt like I was reading a book about creating your own personal style by someone who really knew what they were talking about. This is by no means a heavy read, and you can blow through it in under an hour, but for what it is, a style guide, it's really well done. If you have a budding fashionista, or someone who is in dire need of an overhaul, this would be a great book to grab up for the holidays!

I've never read a style book before but I picked this one up from the library because it looked kind of cute. While it was definitely very cute (I really enjoyed the layout and the pictures), I felt like it wasn't that easy to relate to. The majority of the people reading this book probably don't have the expendable income to tailor every item in their wardrobe and buy Chanel purses. The whole time reading it, I just felt like a gorgeous skinny rich girl was giving me advice on how to dress--which is exactly what this book is obviously. With that being said, I think she did at least try to give the idea that she's just like the readers, but there's just too much of a gap. If you're one of those people that like having decorative books out on a coffee table or nightstand, this would be the perfect addition.

This book offers wonderful fashion and makeup tips! Although I don't remember the exact date that I purchased this, due to the fact that I read this book on and off, I quite enjoyed this. The pictures were fun to look at also.

I asked for this book from my parents for Christmas, after I had received [b:Lauren Conrad Beauty|13623910|Lauren Conrad Beauty|Lauren Conrad|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1337687276s/13623910.jpg|19227658] the year before. I got it, and was expecting more of how to wear different articles of clothing. What I did not expect was tips on saving money whilst shopping, how to organize your closet, and also ideas on how to wear different accessories. I was very pleasantly surprised.

The book is divided into three sections, Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle.

In the Fashion section, it (obviously) tells you how you can build your wardrobe, how to shop smart, tips on wearing accessories, and then finally getting dressed. Not that you need to know how to dress yourself, but it gives you tips on layering and things like that.

The Beauty section is very minor, only giving a few tips for makeup and hair. But definitely check out [b:Lauren Conrad Beauty|13623910|Lauren Conrad Beauty|Lauren Conrad|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1337687276s/13623910.jpg|19227658] if you would like to know more about health, hair, and makeup.

And finally the Lifestyle section gives you tips on how to dress up your school uniform and look professional for work, as well as events and parties, and also tips on what and how to pack well for traveling.

This book was probably written with teenagers in mind, ones who are just starting to get their feet wet when it comes to dressing nice. But, I've read many other reviews from mothers and grandmothers who found the tips in the book helpful as well.

I would highly recommend this book.
