4.5 stars. This book focused on 5 clients who talked about extremely traumatic lives and then worked to overcome them. It was hard to read at times but I highly recommend.

Fascinating, but for the faint of heart. Gildener describes some pretty horrific trauma in this book. For me, though, seeing people work so hard and triumph over their pains was absolutely inspirational. What an amazing, eclectic group, who show just how resilient humans (and love) can be. Also, it was so enriching and wonderful to get a “behind the scenes” insight into the workings of therapy. I just loved this book.

If you wanted more after Maybe You Should Talk to Someone, and you think you can handle some heavier stories (in my opinion), this book is for you.

Incredible! Very heavy content but so inspiring! One of the best books I’ve read.

This was interesting but also largely horrifying, and unfortunately some parts are burned into my brain
