I thought the premise was interesting. It was a slog for me and it just seemed to keep spinning and not going anywhere.

The way Sheila writes without forcing you to read pages of world-building at the beginning is new to me, but also refreshing! You are immediately integrated into the story without delay. I can see how it would be harder to write this way vs the former so I’m impressed!
Tropes:
- love triangle - better written than Twilight
- One horse
- He falls first - my one neg was it felt a bit insta-love, but the banter was so good it was easy to overlook
- Forced proximity forbidden romance
- Bada$$ FMC - and Cece is the coolest fmc I’ve read in a while.
The emotional rollercoaster you travel along will take you for an amazing ride. Beware of triggers, listed at the front of the book, and don’t get attached to any secondary characters… or at least I’m trying not to after book 1! 😭
