I expected something very different because I only knew “queer snow queen retelling” about it, mainly something very sad and melancholic.
This was more of an adventure and self finding journey with very cool world building and characters. It also had some almost horror elements? Like this mythology was quite horrifying and gory at times.

Such a fun and magnificent read! My new favorite book by T.Kingfisher! It was such a joy, filled with excitement,(relatable) awkwardness, and the perfect amount of love. I would compare their work to Terry Pratchett and how lovely and silly it all gets while still being rather serious when needed
