Lust, greed, misunderstandings and jumping to wrong conclusions leads to innocent deaths.

A young man is found dead in a fire but things are not what they seem and Elma has to work her way through a lot of ambiguous leads to find the truth. It's not easy when things just don't make logical sense. It only gets more complicated when a second body is found at the house.

This is an enjoyable read and and insight into life in Iceland. Against the crimes that happen and the investigation, there is a theme running through this book and that is babies.

Well worth reading.

If I've learned one thing from this book it's that you can't trust Eva AEgisdóttir.

This book is full of masterful misdirection and manipulation - wickedly clever and unnerving. From the beginning, there is a slow-burning intensity that keeps the reader suspended in nervous apprehension, not sure what or who to trust. This snowy small town is blurry, murky and leaves the reader desperately searching for clues along with Elma, that we sometimes don't even see what's staring us in the face until it's too late and there's no time to look away.

Night Shadows is undeniably chilling - both in the brilliantly thrilling writing and the perfect setting. The reader is transported to a cold, small town far from anywhere and filled with a cast of mysterious residents full of personality and potential.

Now, this story has explosive twist or cinematic reveal - it has a disquiet air of mystery and intrigue, one that is subtle and sneaky and might not make you gasp in horror but instead keep you frantically flipping the pages searching for answers.

This is the third book in the Forbidden Iceland Series, featuring the same enthralling cast of characters but it can definitely be read as a standalone if you can't wait.

Þetta var ágætis lesning en náði þó í raun aldrei neinum hæðum. Sumt var mjög fyrirsjáanlegt en þó ekki lokalausnin sem var gott. En ég náði aldrei raunverulega að verða spennt.

The first two books in the series were my favourite ceime thrillers, so this one was a bit of a let down. I still enjoyed it but it felt too american somehow. What I liked about the first 2 was that they were sort of believable. This one however was not as believable, it felt like there were too many twists and then the end left me feeling annoyed...
