A sexy angsty fated mate story

I like Becca’s storytelling. I like these characters, they have a whirlwind and sometimes dangerous journey to their HEA, but it’s a great read.

Even though I know that a lot of books in a series can be read as standalone, I always like to read from the beginning. That's why I was excited to get this book. I've read a few things from this author now & I was expecting it to be good but I wasn't expecting it to be this good! It was a fantastic read & I absolutely loved Isaiah. To have such a dominant man be so sweet & gentle just made me melt. I also found it refreshing to have a character be confronted with a shifter & not take well immediately. Reading the progression of the relationship gave me a giggle or 2 along the way as well so it can't get much better. Looking forward to more.

Heather Simmons didn't realise a nice hike would end up with her being injured, attacked and rescued by a hot guy. The book had a great pace, thoroughly good and believable characters like how Heather did not want to admit what was happening, to the possessive of Isaiah and how his family react to everything going on. There were definitely some great tense moments and times where you had no idea what would end up happening and I just couldn't it down. The end was great and left you wondering who the next book would be about!

I am a great fan of shifter HEA books and after reading my first book by Becca Jameson, I can honestly say she has a new fan and I can not wait to read more in this series as well as her other books!

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Heather Simmons is in Alberta, Canada as a glaciologist until she gets hurt on a hiking trail and has to be rescued. Isaiah Arthur is out on the mountain trying to find the lost hiker who he quickly realizes is his mate. A stand off though has Heather getting injured by another shifter and now he has to disclose she is going to be a shifter and the complications that come with it. The Arcadian Council wants to interfere and take is mate away, Isaiah has a short amount of time to convince Heather to be his mate but will she be willing to take a chance on him?

Great book had a few twists I was surprised about. Isaiah was swoon worthy when it comes to Heather. Sizzling chemistry, well worth picking up.

Not Bad.

This is an adequate paranormal romance of the erotic standalone variety. This means that while there is an instalove type of emotional connection between the bear shifters in this first installment of the Arcadian Bears series, the focus is more on sexy times and it’s patently obvious that that’s what the relationship is more or less based on (even though they ARE mates). This novel isn’t going to break you down emotionally and make you believe in real love, the next book in the series (having read the preview at the end of this book,) seems like it’s going to be more along those lines. But if you’re looking for a breezy, sexy, hot paranormal read with burly man-bear shifters, this is the one for you.
