Not as good as the first, but still enthralling.

This was so much fun! Ransom Riggs has managed to balance a very grim setting of wartime London that's haunted by hollows and wights, with a very action-packed, adventurous storytelling and charming, a bit naive characters. I loved them and their peculiar powers. And that ending! Suspense. Can't wait for the third book!

I have nothing to say about this book other than that it was fabulous.
Wait, that isn't true.
I'm also really glad that there was a carnival side show in this one, however brief the appearance.
I have an unusual interest in old freak shows and carnival side shows.

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!!

At first I was not quite ready for the big adventure of the 2nd book. But when I'm into it, the more exciting it was. And at the very last chapters of this book, I was about to cry of what had happened to peculiar children. But then when that crazy thing happened to jacob at the last remaining pages I was so excited and I just can't wait to get the 3rd book..

It was a great sequel. It took a while to get into it. And honestly I feel that is because I had forgotten a lot of the first book. But the ending.. wow.

I was a little disappointed in the turn it took. I was totally different than the view it was originally headed for. I guess that is good for the unexpected but it was diappointing. It is an obvious set up for book 3.

interesting premise but like nothing happened in the entire book. jacob is not at all a compelling protagonist, and i feel nothing for him and emma’s relationship.
