Even though it took me a long time to read this book, it was because of personal reasons rather than it being related to the storyline.  The beginning was a bit rough for me to get into; it didn’t feel as exciting to me as the first book but it began to pick up eventually and I was super enthralled by the last half of the book for the most part.  The ending was spectacular!  I think it really saved the book for me so it wasn’t quite a total disappointment.  I really enjoyed reading about Jacob but not long after, I got kind of tired about reading about all the children from Miss Peregrine’s loop.  There seems to be so many characters that it is difficult to really be able to focus on a few and expand their character development.

Rated:  3.75/5.0—Overall, not a horrible book.  Definitely didn’t feel quite as up to par as the first one for me but I really did enjoy the ending of the book with Jacob and his dream about his grandfather and then at the very last scene with the phone box and him tapping into the heart of his peculiarity which helped him communicate with the hollows.
adventurous dark emotional funny tense medium-paced

2.5 stars. Didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as the first book. It became very tiring how the children constantly kept 'falling from the fat into the fire'. Every time they got over one crises they immediately fell into another.

A more action oriented tale with the Peculiar Chikdren on a Journey to save their mentor. Plot is ok and never really piqued my interest until the last 20 pages.

Great second installment

Not quite as compelling as the first one, but still an enjoyable read. Kind of cool to see them travel through history, and looking forward to the next one!! The writing is solid.

It was nearly as exciting as the first but not quite as thrilling. Although equally as imaginative, I almost felt that I am being dragged, maybe not dragged but I don't know why it took me this long to finish. But it's still entertaining, not saying it not. Because. Duh. The ending. As in like dafuq? What a cliffhanger an amazingly peculiar ending! Waaaaaaaaa

Their adventures were all great, at first I thought, how can everything just effin falls into place. But then yes, ya gotta read it! a;slkd;aslkdas!! :)

Nicely done. :) Peculiar at its finest. :)

EH. I wasn't going to read the third book but May after reading the last page of this book.
