A very handy (hah) book that's meant to be referred to per your needs and not a front-to-back single read. I like the focus on renters and the emotional weight of repairs - a much needed spotlight. Could seem a bit coddling though.

Lots of interesting advice. It was unique because people don't usually cater home advice to renters so this was nice.
I really liked Mercury's videos which are full of good tips in an approachable and non-judgmental manner.

I learned so much from reading this. I was worried that a lot of the chapters wouldn’t apply to me, but even when they didn’t, Mercury Stardust found a way to bring the repairs a bigger picture. More photos and drawings would have been helpful, and I wish there was more memoir because the personal stories she did share always made a big impact, but overall this was a great!

Easy to understand and follow. In the past few weeks I have already followed a few guides for very basic repairs that I was previously lacking confidence to even attempt like replacing caulk. The emotional resets were especially validating for me. Highly recommended for beginners like myself!

This is a great book for anyone who's renting and needs some tips for everything from finding an apartment to making repairs and more. There's a lot of great information in the book with very detailed explanations for what tools to use and how to complete the repairs. There's also a section at the end of the book with a lot of great information about the various laws and various resources for tenants in the United States that may prove useful to many.
