The Last Word

3.7 AVERAGE

Laugh out loud romantic comedy gold. The Last Word follows Harper and Ryan on this second chance romance. Throughout the course of the book, we find out why they're estranged and what really happened between them eleven years ago. The chemistry is undeniable, but is Harper too stubborn to let herself fall for the same man again? Harper's difficult relationship with her parents was a much needed insight into her motivations, which only added to her appeal. Perfect for fans of the Hating Game, workplace rivals to lovers with tonnes of silly banter. Likeable characters sure to make you smile.

SYNSOPSIS: Ryan and Harper were once interns together at the same publicity firm, and things carried on... well beyond the office if you know what I mean. The sparks were flying, until Ryan betrayed Harper. Now, fast forward a decade later, they are both at the top of their game and when their companies merge... the office becomes a warzone. They are constantly bickering, at odds, and making the office a nightmare for everyone. The chemistry is still sparking, but the loathing is strong between these two.

MY FEELS:
This book was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed their witty banter and the chemistry between the love interests. Dare I say, I enjoyed this one more than The Hating Game? I enjoyed all of the bickering, and can never deny my love when it comes to workplace romances.

I had a fun time with this book. I really wish I could be a celebrity journalist too. I loved the bickering between the two and the way the author described Harper's clumsiness so well. This had all the good tropes: workplace enemies to lovers, he fell first, second chance romance, and opposites attract. I also usually like that though this is a romance, this was also introspective and had some elements of women's fiction too. I will definitely be reading this author's other books.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me this eARC
