The incidents of his life is very well penned down and keeps the reader engaged.

Portraits of power by N. K. Singh is indeed a very informative book. Everyone must read it. Even though it's an biography we get to see glimpses of India's political and legislative system. We most often see on television which minister did what or said what but this book thins the curtain and shows us what actually goes on behind the scene. Legislative process is not as easy as it seems.

Having said that it's a biography, author has opened each and every chapter of his life. From his childhood to him being a civil servant. From his love for classical music to important decisions he took in trying times.
At the end of the book we get to know what man of substance he is.

A very insightful read.

This book is very inspiring and one that is very insightful.
N.K Singh has shown us so much through this book, from his personal life to his life as a civil servant and politician.
This autobiography is very much knowledgeable because while reading we not only get to know about the life of the author himself but more so about the history of our country; its growth, development and advancement.
I am ashamed to say this but I do not know a lot about the history of my own country and this book has helped me progress so much on that direction. I understood so much about the workings of my government through this book and it inspired me to read even more about this topic. So one can say that I may be on the hunt for more books on the politics and workings of the Indian government.

This book is written in a very detailed manner, and the author has helped us understand about the workings of our country by going way back to pre-independence, the government under Narendra Modi, and the current situation where the world is being hit by a pandemic.
This book explores a lot of areas and I would highly recommend it for everyone.

The book is narrated well as we experience the journey of Mr Singh as he traces his journey to the echelons of power. with neatly divided chapters and sections, the book is an interesting account of the happenings in the Indian Administration. Starting from the very roots, the author traces his life from his education to his entrance into the corridors of power.
