For a retelling "focused" on the women, I'm not sure this actually passes the Bechdel test. The narrator did a wonderful job.

I love this Greek Mythology retelling. It has a good writing style. Haynes had made sure she gave justice to every women who were part of the Trojan War, not just the women of Troy but also the Greek women who were left behind during the war. The unspoken women were given life and humanized in this book. I could feel their suffering, their anger, and their sadness. This book is worth reading.

I’ve been a fan of the Trojan war since I watched the soft core porn movie Troy in 2004. the fact this is a retelling focusing on the women makes me even happier.

I think over all I’d give the book 4/5, but it gets 100 stars for the Penelope chapters alone. Love this perspective on the classics.
