There's something about classic books that emit some kind of creepiness such as this and that of The Picture of Dorian Gray that really draws me in. I am very fascinated with the idea of having dual identities (or even more) because it shows how powerful our minds can be. At first I really had no idea how the story goes and was surprised that I was liking the story the more I read into it.
At first I was confused with the letter Mr. Utterson received. I thought that Dr. Jekyll was being blackmailed by Mr. Hyde that's why he did the letter but then, it became clearer as the story goes on. It was fantastic, like drinking polyjuice potion except Dr. Jekyll could only transform into Hyde. The way he described Hyde's features is so fascinating; as if he has a deformity that you couldn't quite put a finger on.
Overall, I am so happy that I bought this book in booksale for Php 25 and this is also the first book that I got which has writings from the previous owner. She wrote some of her thoughts about the intriguing passages.
