Rating: 4.25/5 (Sold Fairyloot set)

This book was fast-paced and interesting throughout. I enjoyed the way that the case unfolded but despite this, I was never obsessed with the book. The plot and characters were good but something was missing.

Pip was generally good but I found her a bit annoying at times.
I hated that she gave up on the project during the drama portion of the book, but appreciated that her intentions were good. I thought she was diligent and smart, and I liked her tenacity. The fact that she had a good support system was wonderful. Her family was great and Cara was lovely.

I wasn't too impressed with the rest of the Wards though. Elliot was a disappointment and Naomi could have done better (maybe I'm being too harsh on her?). I absolutely hated Max and felt bad for his victims, including Becca. Andi was horrific, as were the Bells in general, and Becca deserved better.

Ravi was an excellent character though. His personality was wonderful and it was great to see Sikh representation in the book. I don't have much else to say about the book really. It was fantastic but the fact that I disliked most of the characters meant that I couldn't fully love it.

This really isn’t my genre so it’s not that surprising that I didn’t enjoy it that much. I felt that it was too long, there were too many clues followed, so a lot of the time it did not feel like they were moving forward. The story stirred from being realistic to quite dramatic. When things started to escalate a bit more at the halfway point and Pip took more risks I also felt more and more uncomfortable with two teens trying to solve a murder case and not involving any adults in it. And then the resolution of it all felt pretty underwhelming.
I didn’t feel like this was a bad book, I also wouldn’t say it’s a fantastic book. But I can say for sure that the book wasn’t for me.

♡ Cold Case
♡ Small Clues
♡ Murder Board

The plot was a bit cliché but entertaining enough.  It is unfortunate that the US edition had so much edited out, there are just moments that feel skipped over or some parts that seem missing general.  But in the end it was a good story.

I loved the formatting of this book, all the extra details like the schedules, text messages, were all formatted nicely.  It was an entertaining to read, it had twists and turns, an unlikely friendship, a killer hiding in plain sight, and a school project that turned into solving a murder.
