I started this book skeptical due to the fact that I dislike horror and thriller books. I fell in love with the main character Pip and Ravi as they interviewed their small town in order to solve a disappearance case that was closed years before. Had me sitting at the edge of my seat as more clues unraveled and as Pip digged herself deeper into investigating.

I saw all the BookTok things RAVING about this book and wanted to adore it but I had read "It Takes Two To Keep A Secret" and figured out the ending partially half way through but didn't solve the plot about Becca! It was really great but I did myself a bit of a disservice still would recommend!!!

”in the end, this was a story about people and their different shades of desperation, crashing up against each other.
but there was one person who was good until the very end.”

i binge-read this in one day so i wouldn’t have to take it with me on a four day trip. but i might end up bringing the sequel anyway. i think i failed.

i deeply enjoyed this book, though i’m still unsure how i feel about pip & ravi’s romantic relationship? 17/18 + 20? seriously? that however doesn’t overshadow the main content of the book considering how it’s only relevant in the last 3 pages, therefore, 4 stars.

”i’m not sure i’m the good girl i once thought i was. i’ve lost her along the way.”
