This book carries the voice of an over educated, pretentious, misogynist. The type of white man who is educated and uses it just to be a little bitch about it not to actually make any positive change in the world. The science is neat in parts, but definitely an unreliable narrative. Don’t read this book to be honest the obnoxious objectification and reduction of the 2.5 women in the book isn’t worth it. I don’t care if its a “classic” it actually just reads like another book written by a shitty white man in the 80s. If I wanted to read a genetic research ethics scifi book I’d just read Margaret Atwood’s Oryx and Crake because at least it’s fucked up in a thoughtful way.
Moderate: Gore
Minor: Racism and Sexual harassment

Crichton's Jurassic Park is a gripping and terrifying exploration of whether science should do something just because it can. Crichton heavily critiques the arrogance of scientists, corporations, and billionaires in developing products without ethic, a parallel that powerfully resonates in our modern day. Be warned, the novel is much darker than the film, but just as thrilling and thought-provoking.
Graphic: Gore, Death, Violence, Body horror, and Animal death
Minor: Sexism and Sexual harassment
The character, Dr. Ellie Sattler, is described in objectified ways or is outright objectified by other male characters.frogman2002's review against another edition

quick and easy read. what starts out as a novel concerned with corporate science turns into a thriller and much of the initial idea gets lost in the action. still fun to go through and experience, having seen the movie a bunch beforehand.
Moderate: Blood and Violence
Minor: Sexual harassment
