I had my suspicions, and was disappointed when some of them were proven correct. I was still enjoying it, but felt saddened that perhaps knowing this book had surprises in store had forced me to look hard for them. But then... additional nuances started to happen and my ears pricked up again. I devoured the last section of the book.
The narration is terrific, and really suited the roles. I enjoyed the journal entries interspersed.
I'm very glad I read this, even though a lot of it is quite bleak!

Wowowowowza. Interesting book. I feel like as a reader I was not far from suspecting who I suspected to have been the person responsible for the crime that was done. The layout of the silent patient was set up so perfectly in the sense that I felt chills and scared each time the doctor met with the main character. Great thriller.

This book was so incredible, it quickly turned into my comfort book. I took it everywhere with me no matter where I went, I was that attached. It was so good it easily took first place as my favourite books of all time. Such an engulfing read. The plot twist was like NO OTHER!! The whole time I kept guessing and guessing and always ended up wrong. When I reached the end I quite literally audibly gasped and was left so shocked my jaw was hanging!! I wish I could give this books extra stars it was that good :)!

I think that the plot twist of the book is predictable, but I did not figure it out and it really shocked me. I loved the ending of the story but I felt like the start was a bit long. I would lose interest and had to force myself to keep going. However I feel like re-reading it would make it more entertaining now that I know the plot.

This book has been circulating around booktok and bookstagram for months now and when I got my hands on it, I knew I wanted to read it in October for the spooky effect.
6 years ago, Alicia but no one knows why. She has remained silent all of these years. Many psychotherapists have tried to help her but all failed. When Theo hears about a job opening at The Grove, the place where Alicia is at, he is determined to get the job and be her therapist to get her to speak. But why is Theo so determined to help Alicia when he has his own problems?
This book is a bit difficult to rate since I have mixed feelings. I enjoyed reading it but it took me over 200 pages to really get into the book itself. I liked how we got to see Theo speaking to all those people connected to Alicia to find things out. To be honest, each and every character was insane and crazy and no one can tell me otherwise. What happened to Alicia to get her to do such a thing was heartbreaking because I don't know one human who would be sane after hearing those words, especially twice. The chapters were quite short and I like that. To me the ending was and still is sooooooooooo confusing. I definitely didn't see that coming that's for sure.

If you want to read a thriller that won't scare you and isn't really gruesome, tjis is perfect for the spooky season.
