This book was sitting in my Amazon cart because I heard If it through tik tok. But then a friend invited me for book club for it and wow. I’m so glad I got It. The store kept me on my toes and kept having to say “just one more chapter” and then read the book in one sitting. The plot twist got me. I’m usually good at guessing the twists and had idea from the store but it got me! Highly suggest this book.

boy did this book draaagg. and i half-guessed the twist. i dont know for the life of me why people say this book is fast-paced - the only reason i tore through it in the beginning was because the chapters are so short.

Ever considered the unfolding narrative when an exceptionally talented painter’s canvas sets the stage for a gripping mystery?

Entering 2024 with The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides felt like immersing myself in a whirlwind of mystery from the very first page. Alicia Berenson, the talented painter, weaves a tragic narrative that not only shatters her facade of perfection but also kickstarts an astounding mystery saga.

In Alex Michaelides’ writing, words don’t just cut through; they dance with an irresistible charm, turning each page into a battlefield where putting the book down becomes a challenge. Picture a world saturated with tension, horror, spine-chilling terror, and poignant sorrow—not just a story but an emotional rollercoaster where every page forms an unbreakable connection between me and the narrative.

As the plot unfolds with clever finesse, I journey through Alicia Berenson’s life, discovering concealed truths in every corner. Despite initial frustrations with some characters, delving into their stories not only shifts my perspective but also reveals intricate layers of complexity, making me truly understand each character. Unexpected plot twists spice up the reading experience with delightful surprises! I genuinely enjoyed the twist; it caught me off guard.

While The Silent Patient is captivating, some readers might point out potential shortcomings, such as initial frustration with certain characters and the need for deeper understanding. Fortunately, these aspects unfold as the story progresses, and individual preferences may vary regarding the level of tension and mystery in the narrative. It’s worth noting that opinions on a book’s shortcomings often depend on subjective factors; what one reader perceives as a flaw, another might view as an integral part of the storytelling experience.

The concluding act doesn’t merely tie up loose ends; it orchestrates a finale with surgical precision, delivering an impactful punch to the tale of The Silent Patient. This isn’t just a literary kickoff for 2024; it’s an enthralling and enigmatic journey that etches a lasting impression into the canvas of Alicia Berenson’s story, leaving readers spellbound long after the final page.

Çeviri kötü ama iyi yazılmış. Akıcı, plot twist falan filan. Asla bir gerilim romanı değil. Belki murder mystery. 12 yaşından büyük herhangi birini gerecek hiçbir şey yok. Çok sığ bir deneme. Ucuz yani.

Diğer herkes her olayda, her ikilemde kişilik değiştiriyor resmen. Kişilerin çoğu da yersiz ve anlamsız zaten. Gidişata hiçbir katkıları yok. Filler karakterler. Ruth, Paul, Lydia, Max, hatta Yuri bile. Sadece bahsettiğim, plot twist’i güçlendirmek için yaratılmış ve kötülenmiş karakterler.
Sonuç olarak overrated.
