This book is medium to slow paced. Two perspectives mix throughout the novel that confuse and intrigue the reader. I personally found it, at times, frustrating that I knew more about characters rather than finding out with them. The book picks up in the last 100 pages with an interesting twist, but I (as the reader) had figured everything out at the end.

got recommended this for the twist, it definitely delivered. was dying to know what happened the entire time. really love the snippets we get about alicia’s art. some of the longer psychoanalysis bits weren’t super engaging and there’s some predictable genre fuckery abt mental illness but overall v good whodunit thriller

Overall, I thought it was a fascinating read! I think the mystery of everything was at a satisfying pace and I like the characters! The book also explored its main theme,

the tragedy of Alcestis

, in an interesting way!
However, the book isn’t without flaws. There’s a few conflicts that I feel like led up to nothing and I really wish they fleshed out some of the side characters more.

really good plot twist that had me shocked to the point of disbelief, however it did feel extremely slow at the time
