The reveal came pretty much out of nowhere. Or maybe it felt like that because I haven't read Beastars in a while and forgot the little clues and hints? Anyway, for me it fell a bit flat, but the rest of the volume was quite good!

This volume starts off with a huge swing and it just keeps going. I was surprised to have some narrative payoff quickly into the book that rolls nicely into where the story has been inevitably heading. Overall a solid entry.
