The story was short but incredibly cute and sufficient. I love when historical fiction romances include those of us who are pushing our prime or already there (age 30 and up). Makes me not feel so unaccomplished lol. As I am a lover of Historical Fiction/Romance this novella did not disappoint and I was thoroughly satisfied with it.

If you, like me, are horny for people who are efficient and good at what they do, read this precious (though disappointingly clean) romance. It is precious, Christmassy, and short enough to read in a single sitting.

I got this as part of the 'Wicked Temptations: Five Seductively Enticing Historical Romances' box set for my kindle.
I read the whole story in one sitting. It was very enjoyable and I liked the characters.

I enjoyed the interaction between Benedict and Amelia and found it entertaining. These are characters that I want to get to know better. This is a quick short read and the first book in the Dukes of War series. It was fun reading as Benedict and Amelia went from mere acquaintances to falling in love. I found the story well written but too short. I wanted more of this couple and their romance.

I didn't like this book as much as I liked the third book in the series; which I accidentally read first.

Just an FYI this is a novella, clocking in at 180 pages. A cute little Christmas story about Lady Amelia Pembroke, a type-a personality who brow beats Viscount Sheffield to keep his annual Christmas fête from being canceled after an accident destroys the regular venue. The two leads are very likable and I love that Lady Amelia runs the household with memory devices, notes, and practicality, unlike other books where the household just works. Viscount Sheffield is also a wonderfully written character, he has his own way of running his life, and is unapologetic about his way of living. If you're looking for a light, fun read, look no further!

Quick, sweet read. Engaging protagonists. Witty, sparkling dialogue. Two expert manipulators manage to scheme and manage each other into intrigue, infatuation, liking and then loving. Fun, little read.

Simple, festive, and sweet. A bit too short and light on plot for my tastes, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker.
