I have to say, this book was delightful. It did reach a point where Opaline’s story would have you in a high and then Martha & Henry’s would bring you down from it. After processing it, I think it helped the wanting more of Opaline and making her chapters something to look forward to. The richness of the plot was incredible and the plot twists, yes twistS, caught me off guard and was pulling my heartstrings.

Incredible read.

This was an amazing and magical book filled with hope, love, and believing in yourself!!! I loved the characters and the intersecting stories. Every time we found out there was a connection between our protagonists I was giddy!! Opaline’s story was tragic but also beautiful. I think this book showed love in different facets and the importance of not losing faith in love even when things go to shit. I loved the resilience of Martha and Henry’s love of books!! Finding the Truth was also another beautiful theme. I kept imagining Henry and Martha as like older but I think they maybe were supposed to be in their twenties. This was so light to read I stopped after 60 pages but when I picked it back up I was reading non stop!!

I'm not fully sure what to make of this book. Its just not what I thought it was going to be from reading the blurb which to me sounded more fantasy adventure. Its not the type of book I would normally read and it felt very slow but again I think that's because I was waiting for it to turn into the book I thought it was.
I'm going with 3 stars because I didn't hate reading it and I was really engaged in Opaline's story. Also because maybe I would enjoy it more rereading it as I would know what to expect going in so I wouldn't be getting something I didn't want.
