The writing of this novel is beautiful and mimics (in a sense) that of poetry. One of the characters, Madame Bowden, said to Martha, "Some things are meant to be flawed. Therein lies the beauty." Madame Bowden in her words and actions adds inspirational value to the story and makes it even more uplifting, even considering some of the darkness sprinkled throughout the main storyline.

This one was sometimes hard to follow on audiobook, so I wished I had gotten a physical copy. Overall, good book!

this book had so much potential if the writing was just better...

The ideas behind this book were so great, but the writing was not. It was hard to read. It had a lot of plot holes, and I mean A LOT. I hated reading from Henry and Martha’s points of view. It felt like it was an entirely different person writing those two from Opalines chapters. I wanted to love this book so much but I almost couldn’t finish it.

Too good. Loved how there were parallel timelines that flowed nicely into each other.
