i gave this one a 2/5. the pacing was just way too slow for me. so many unnecessary details and small talk that didn’t add much. what’s frustrating is: those ‘unimportant’ talks could’ve been way more interesting if written differently. yesterday i made it to 50% and still didn’t feel any excitement, just a lot of back and forth without real progress.

also.. i didn’t like how the author kinda glorified cheating. like.. how are you IN A COMMITED RELATIONSHIP—suddenly kissing someone else out of town..? that part really threw me off.

overall, i kinda agree with what some people said. it felt like it was written by a middle schooler. definitely overhyped. sorry if that sounds harsh.. but yeah. just being honest.

A lovely little read, with heaps of beautiful quotes. I love a book with that special magic in it and this book did it well. There was a point in the middle where I thought I wasn't going to finish but I am so glad I did. The two main female characters both deserve the world and I'm glad magic found them. The quotes and ending made me want to give 4 stars but I can't let go of not wanting to finish the book.

DID NOT FINISH: 34%

The book moved a little too slowly for me and based on some other reviews, I was concerned that the content might get too stressful for me. So, I skimmed the rest of the book. It seemed like a good story overall but not at this time for me.
