This was such a rollercoaster and I loved it. Apart from the fey lore, the murder mystery made everything more tense. The writing style was a chef's kiss, making it easy to turn yet another page.

I do recommend checking out the trigger warnings.

The book started out with a very confusing ceremony and a character named Lettuce that just took me out. This was my first book about fae and I thought that maybe this is all fae books are like and maybe that means this is probably not my genre. But since then I’ve read other books about fae and I must say it just happens that this one particularly didn’t really captivate me.

This started off slow but then got faster paced and added more lore and world building which was interesting. I liked this book in the end and will read the rest of the books (trilogy at the moment and maybe the other two books in the world).
