Definitely better than Caraval, but still not quite a masterpiece. Donnatella is infinitely more interesting than Scarlett, which is probably the biggest improvement. The plot and the characters in this one were also a lot more interesting and intricate. A great second book. Onto the Finale!

Legend, bitch boy grow up. Don’t leave your injured woman alone like a fake ass gentleman.

We are now following the younger sister Tella, she is on her quest on yet another caraval to find their mother. She encountered a love triangle between Dante and Jacks (I KNOWWW). She made a deal with Jacks while still being in love with Dante and in the magical world of Caraval that means kisses and flowery words.

The reveal of Legend's identity is seen in this book as well. Alsooooo the boldness of Scarlett yayyy. She reconnected with her ex fiance to give him a chance while also giving a chance to Julian who lied to her yet again after the betrayal on the first book.

Listened to the audiobook of this novel and it was really an experience. I don't think I could've been this invested if it weren't for the audiobook.
