Good lesson, fine book. Great for late elementary/middle schoolers.

I think this is the best manga in the Warriors series that I’ve read so far! It expands on Ravenpaw’s character and gives him so much growth, and Barley gets a moment to shine as well as some expanded backstory we don’t see in the novels. There were several touching moments between them along with other cats in the book (no spoilers ;3). I thought the beginning where Ravenpaw was so attentive to the kits because he misses his clan was adorable. I wish it worked out, but then of course we wouldn’t have a story lol. Art is cute; I like the colorized version where you can see their fur patterns much better than the usual grayscale tones.

Ravenpaw is one of the most iconic cats from this series, and I think he looks cuter than most in this art style! There are some continuity errors in this manga, as with any book in the Warrior cats series, (Bramblepaw should be Brambleclaw at this point, according to "Firestar's Quest"!), but these tiny mistakes are easy to overlook, in favor of the soft dynamic between Ravenpaw and Barley.

Nostalgia for an old childhood series brought me back to read this. Ravenpaw and Barley were two of my favourite characters. A really lovely walk down memory lane.
