This book was emotional and funny, The Last Five Years and One Day combined as well as just it’s own unique heart

What a beautifully written book. This wasn't some random YouTube book deal - this is the writing of an incredibly talented author.

From start to finish, the book is a pleasure to read. The concept of reading a story backwards can take a moment to understand and I found myself getting confused at first, but works well once you settle into it. The characters were well written and I loved the unravelling of context as the story goes on.

So why not 5 stars? I found that the book lost me a tad in the middle. I was very invested for the first half of the book and the last few chapters, but I did feel the book really slowed down for a while. I wonder if that's because starting with something as significant as a breakup means the story can only wind down. Regardless, I would highly recommend this book to anybody.

Where to start... First I did really enjoy this book however it was just kinda sad the whole time. The main character has mental health issues that she is working on/dealing with the whole book. While it was great representation it was hard to read at times because the author wrote it so realistically and convincingly. However the references to being bisexual felt extremely forced and like they were just for show.

The reverse aspect was very interesting and almost fun in a way because something would be referenced that you didn't know about and then down the line you would learn the origin.

Overall it was an interesting concept and a "fun" read.

It was exquisitely written especially for a concept that is very out there and you don’t often betrayed in the media which also made it a very refreshing read. The idea of starting at the end of a relationship and finishing at the beginning really makes you use your mind to figure out what went wrong but it is also as if the work was done for you and you didn’t need to do much thinking. Additionally, the characters are also phenomenal as the portrayal of mental health not just in main characters but also side characters makes you think about the people around you and I love how it was a central part of the book not just something that’s was touched upon unlike many other books; the main character was also just super likeable which is a trait I enjoyed! Would definitely read something like this again and cannot wait to find something like this.

I really, really loved this. The mental health rep was so good. I didn’t find it as emotional as I’ve heard others claim it to be but it did make me reflect and think!
