Interesting prism by which to view The Troubles

Rather than attempt the daunting task of covering the whole of Irish history leading up to The Troubles and then investigating that period and its aftermath, Keefe chooses several interwoven stories which, together, present an easily digestible looksie. Compelling, spare writing without needless flourishes, this book has only made me curious to learn more.

Even if you know nothing about The Troubles you should read this book. It tells the story of Northern Ireland from the eyes, words memories of several characters (some more famous than others), and gives voice to others. It is shocking as it is compelling.
