It was cute, but for me it dragged on a little bit. Also, it's getting hard to keep up with which person belongs to which family. That might be a me issue though.

High school sweethearts turned enemies. 14 years later Magnolia returns home to her small town and of course one of the first people she sees is her Ex boyfriend, Rhett. She's still not over what happened between them all those years. Rhett swears he's a different guy but only time will tell. This second chance romance was definitely a rollercoaster ride but I did love how much he had to grovel. It was nice seeing all the characters from her other books. I definitely love this small town.

Hoss did it again with her superior writing, captivating us with her great characters! Set in the same universe as her prior books, we continue the stories of Rhett Griffin and the girl whom he could never forget, Maggie. The theme of personal hurt follows our main characters as they pulled back to each other, even when Maggie really didn't want to be at first. The supporting characters wrap themselves into the main storyline and help develop the story, and both his and her families play a part in their return to love. Highly recommend and look forward to her next book!

🔥🔥🔥🔥(4/5)
I was hoping to like this book, as the second chance romance tries is one of my favorites and I *loved* Rhett as a side character in all of the previous books. But frankly, Rhett SUCKS the way this while story unfolds. He's an impatient child who acts entitled to Maggie forgiveness without doing enough to grovel, given how much he fucked up in their past. I 100% do NOT buy the "he was just a kid" excuse. It's weak at best. He was 20yo when he fucked another woman ONE HOUR after asking major to marry him. And Maggie is frustratingly annoying. Although he clearly demonstrates regret, he does not actually demonstrate remorse. She allows herself to be gaslight.
