This was my first book by this author and while I could have read the first book to understand some of the characters better it wasn’t necessary.
I really liked this one! Riley has had a crush on her best friend’s older brother her whole life not knowing he’s kind of had a thing for her. It’s years later and Riley is pregnant and alone. Nash steps up to help her. Riley not only has some pregnancy complications but she has insurance issues. So Nash offers to marry her for his health insurance

Honestly plot line wasn’t even bad. The story was cute and lighthearted without any major conflict between the two characters so it was an easy wholesome read in that sense. The writing was just absolutely trash and kept taking me out of the story. The amount of times the exact same phrase was used over and over again in a single scene, the way multiple things and moments were described the same way as another, the AMOUNT OF TIMES THE FMCS LIPS “rolled between her teeth” I can’t. It was absurd. I also didn’t like the fact that ch 27 existed at all. Literally zero need for it. Made me feel like I was rage reading from then on because of how unnecessary that entire section was. You could read the whole book without EVER NEEDING IT AND WOULDN'T MISS A THING. There’s also imo a huge plot hole when it comes to Chad but whatever. Not the worst book I’ve read but definitely does nothing for the pregnancy trope
ARC Review
Nash and Riley have liked each other since they were young. They never said anything or acted on their feelings until one night when they kissed. They agreed to keep it a secret. Eight months later, Riley is about to be a single mother. She is eight months pregnant with someone else’s baby, and the guy wants nothing to do with them. And to make matters worse her health insurance drops her because they think she lied about a pre-existing condition. Being alone and not knowing how she would pay for her medical bills was not what she had planned for herself.
When Nash finds out about Riley’s situation, there is only one solution he can think of - ask Riley to marry him. It’s a crazy (and most likely illegal) idea, but it’s one Riley can’t refuse. It’s only an arrangement, a marriage on paper. Until lines become blurred and what was supposed to be fake, feels real. Riley knows that her situation is not what Nash signed up for, but she can’t help but wonder if they could be a real family.
Nash and Riley are so adorable! I love a good friends to lovers and marriage of convenience story. I love that Riley had Nash and her best friend, Nova, there to support her through her high risk pregnancy. Riley doesn’t like to ask other people for help and it was nice to see that she has a good support system. Nash was so sweet and caring. The way he was with Riley’s son after the birth had me swooning. I loved Nash and Riley’s story, and I can’t wait to continue the series!
Thank you Cali Melle for the ARC!
