DID NOT FINISH

1.75 ⭐️ DNF

The way the book just switches from the story being written by the author to the “real world” of the author was too much.

I listened to the audiobook and after 6hrs I couldn’t get back into it. Maybe that’s the point? I dunno, it just couldn’t capture me and as the book went on I cared less and less about the ending.

I listened to this book. It was fun. A book within a book. Interesting storyline.

Tough one to rate because to me the book within the book was a 5 and the actual book more like a 4, does that make sense? I will definitely be continuing on in the series.

Lots of echos of Agatha Christie and other British country mysteries, which is interesting if not terribly original. Some great characters and the link between the real world and the fictional one is well done - the parallels are clear but not too obvious. I enjoyed the real world story better than the fictional, however - Atticus was too much like Hercule Poirot and not unique enough to really invest me in his character.
