Slow to start, but the second half was very enjoyable. Learned lots (I hope somewhat true) about the making of a whodunnit.

3.5

An entertaining romp that finds a new path to go down in, exploiting our desire to KNOW, gossip, and scandals. Magpie Murders plays with genre in fun ways, its not just about a book but the industry and the attitudes that rise around it. One can't help but wonder what secrets lie within this book that may tie to real-life counterparts.
Name names, Horowitz !

4.5 stars - what a fun read! This book is designed as a puzzle specifically for Agatha Christie fans. Definitely recommendation-worthy.

Edit: 4 stars because I'm really not thinking much about this book anymore. It was still a good time while I was reading it!

I really enjoyed this book- a fun whodunnit within a whodunnit! After reading about the author I realized why I liked it so much as we love Midsommer Murders on Netflix. I love the English countryside setting and the flawed characters.
