i adored this book so much the fantasy divinisation elements, contemporary references and LGBTQIA+ representation. i loved each and every character and i must say roe was definitely my favourite. the only reason I’m not rating this book 5 stars is because the ending felt quite inconclusive but other than that i really enjoyed it.

I didnt know anything about this book before I started it and I'm sort of glad I didn't!

I ADORED THIS BOOK.

The writing was so fresh and funny and it really felt like I was in the head of a teenager (sometimes I even spoke aloud to her, telling her that she was the problem).

I spent the whole book unsure if
the magic was going to be real or if it was all going to be imagined by Maeve and i was so happy that the ending didn't have a bunch of rational explanations for everything that happened.

I've never experienced tarot readings or cards and this book made me want to get a set of cards and learn all about them.

I also loved the narration of the audiobook. I thought the narrator told the story so well and really made me feel like it was all happening.

I absolutely adore the character relationships across all of the characters.

I love the Queer representation and discussion. It was really straight forward and made so much sense.

I just can't wait to start the next book now. I will be starting it TODAY.

Listened at 1.25-1.5x speed on the Libby app through my local library.

Fun, enjoyable, reminded me of the kind of books I would read in middle school, and that made me pretty happy. No trains, which I suppose is ok.

Well-written teen angst and interesting magic stuff.
Characters arcs are handled very well - particularly enjoyed Roe's "f*** labels, I'm just here" attitude.
