Unfortunately, this is nothing special. Some parts are funny, but many of the jokes that are in here, I've already seen done before in the comic form or just as a random tweet floating on the internet. The part which is nicely done are the reoccurring "storylines" and the jokes build on the previous ones. It is not the worst picture book I've ever read, but it is not the best one either.

Every popular web comic seems to be expanding into publishing collections of their comics. Since I’m more up to date on my reading books than I am reading webcomics, this is a good thing. It also means I have only seen War and Peas passing by on my channels from time to time so most if not all comics are new for me.
The comics follow a pattern of four panes, and usually they are a little morbid. There are certain returning characters like The Grim Reaper, a robot, a witch, a dog and a ghost. Quite some of the comics made me smile.

I come across the War and Peas comics once in a while when I'm goofing around on the Internet, so I was excited when this ARC was available on Netgalley! I really enjoyed this collection. The humour is a little dry and dark, so probably not all of it is for everyone. But it's still entertaining! The art style is unique and accessible and despite the book being a collection of single page comics, there was some narrative there which was pretty cool! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quick read!

Hilarious read! War and Peas is a collection of odd, morbid comics with recurring characters throughout.
I enjoyed some of the comics, especially the ones with the dog and ghost! However, I found some of them to be a bit too morbid for my liking.
A quick, light easy read — perfect for fans of the comic strips or for people with a dark sense of humour!
