a collection of the authors articles. although many issues that are important and the history of much of the movement is included I found the writing was perhaps more journalistic than I like. One thought new to me was the idea of the privilege of future planning.

struggled to figure out what to rate this for a while—i wanted to read some of steinem’s work after watching the excellent show mrs. america. while a lot of the basic concepts of her feminist thought felt familiar and kind of simple to me, i recognize that she is an icon of the gender equality movement and so much of what i take for granted was achieved because of her. i appreciated her voice and her sense of humor, but for more of a technical grasp of feminist theory and in-depth writing i’ll look elsewhere.

Finally finished - great read and recommended to all women. While, I don't agree with everything. I agree that woman should have equal rights to choose - whatever that choice is - well that is entirely up to each woman. I also think we definitely are not taught enough about women's studies. So, now I have more reading to do!! Oh, by the way, I am a feminist!

A great glimpse into feminism in the late 20th century by one of our modern leaders. Good insight. Sad that so much of it is still yet unchanged, that so much is still amiss.

Im embarrassed to say, this is the first feminist nonfiction books I've read. It was an absolute eye-opener, it made me think about things I had never before considered as a hardcore feminist. I adored her recollection of her time as an undercover bunny however the parts in which she recalls her time spent with former presidential candidates was a time lackluster. I loved it nonetheless and cant wait until my daughter is old enough to read it.
