Lovebirds...what a connection they have. This story of Rob and Melissa is a sweet, yet forbidden romance. Growing up as Melissa's brother Conner's best friend, Rob could never act on his feelings. Melissa being the younger sibling was always in awe of her brother's friend. When an injury and their birds throw these two together after ten years, all bets are off. But will secrets from Rob's past come back to haunt him and ruin the love they are finding? It took me a little while to warm up to these characters, but once invested, I was all in! The birds were a lot of fun, the protective nature of Casey and Cassie so much like the real relationship we watch grow between Rob and Mel. Rachelle Ayala portrays this story so well(and includes a couple firefighters too!) giving a satisfying listen.

Jennifer Groberg gives a well paced, warm narration. She can work a little on the differentiation of the voices between male and female, but all in all, it is an enjoyable listen.

I am not a bird person. I hate birds. Like with a passion I'm not a big fan of them to say the least.

I however found this story so so sweet and cute because I love the whole been in love with each other since forever but never wanted to say anything to each other for fear of rejection... So sweet.

A bit rushed, with the lovebirds the best part.

Melisa Hart is a kindergarten teacher and has had a crush on her brother Connor's former best friend Rob Reed for many years. Unfortunately when Rob slept with Connor's girlfriend Elaine, he was no longer welcome around the Hart household.

Rob Reed is now an emergency doctor and owner of a lovebird named Casey. He is reminded of his past when Melisa comes into his emergency room one night.

There are secrets Rob has kept from everyone and when the truth comes out will he be able to win Melisa over or are the lies he has told too much for everyone to overcome?

This is a great story about what we keep from others and how we move on from the mistakes we have made in the past. I love the relationship between Melisa and Rob and how it doesn't seem fake when they are together!

This book brings in many characters from other books which is great to see and I'm loving how everybody is intertwined!

So I finally read the book that started the Have a Hart Series. I have never read a book that featured birds in it. Cats, yes. Dogs, most definitely. But birds? Never even thought they could be fun. After reading Christmas Lovebirds I may need to look into birds.
This book introduces us to the Harts, an Irish-American family of firefighter men and beautiful, intelligent women. This story is about school teacher Melisa and her love interest Rob...a doctor. Will he fit in with all the brawny, macho firefighters?
The story is an interesting one. There is a bit of drama going on, which, having read the majority of this series, I expected. There are also lots of busybodies, loads of fun and most of all love. Not just romantic love either but family love. That is a huge draw for me with this series. It was fun to see the first glimpses of some characters I already know and am friends with.
I highly recommend this series, whether you read them in order or not. I started in the middle. These are clean romances though some deal with real issues that I would suggest are for mature teens and up.
