Not at all what I expected, but I really enjoyed it. The different POVs and timelines all worked together to maintain pace. The ending was the only slight let down for me.

Please be mindful of trigger warnings

I don't tend to read blurbs just before entering in and it bit me in the behind in this case.

This book has the most difficult content you can read...
It is a very well written book but the subject matter will be difficult for most people and incredibly triggering for some. I did not realise what the heck I was getting myself into and I have regrets about having the content now lurking in my head.

I thought Sally was a fantastic character. But Lindy's story broke me and made me exceptionally angry. Connor and Peter were heinous individuals and I hated where Peter's story ended.

I will aim to expunge this from my brain.

I really enjoyed this & probably would have read it a lot faster if it hasn’t been report card season. With about 100 pages left, I thought it might be a 5-star read. But SO MUCH happens in the last 1/3 of the book that I think it actually detracts from the story Nugent had been building. I also don’t love that the ending takes place during covid, with so many references to the pandemic. It felt unnecessary and didn’t add anything to the story. Still, this was super creepy and messed up, which I’m learning I love in a book… Does that make me creepy too? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tons of content warnings on this one - def don’t go into it blind. Listened on audiobook and it was captivating though the last bit of the book seemed a bit jumbled and ending felt half baked.

This was such a quirky, intriguing read. Sally is definitely a unique FMC. There are times I laughed and I wasn’t sure if I should. While I found the main story line of Sally and her personality fascinating, the parallel plot is just as compelling and maybe an even more interesting character study. Great page turner for sure with disturbing topics and implications.
