One of my favourite reads of the year so far.

Sally has lived a simple life, isolated even from the small Irish community her and her father live in, with Sally struggling to understand people and so avoiding them for the most part. When her father dies and she ‘puts him out with the rubbish’ as he had asked her to do, she finds herself first in trouble then an object of sympathy for the villagers and beyond.

At times humorous, at other times deeply disturbing, this was a very fast read with Sally’s character deeply nuanced and sympathetically written.

Ever since page 1, I could not put this book down. It was so interesting and each time I stopped reading it felt like I was forced to. This is one of the best mystery books I’ve read and is great if you’re in a reading slump

4.5 stars to this compelling twisty drama from Liz Nugent. I highly recommend the audiobook version! {I started via audio but finished the print version.} Strange Sally Diamond is darkly captivating read that grabs the reader right from the start. Characters are unique and diverse and the reader will truly have a hard time managing their feelings towards each. This engrossing read is a must for suspense and thriller fans and will definitely have them devouring pages until the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though it was extremely dark at times. I've never read anything like it and I'm so glad I did pick it up in the end (it was a book club choice). Sally's development throughout was fantastic.
